Hôtel Mercure Lyon Centre Lumière

Staff were really helpful and friendly. The location was ideal. Within 2 minute walk of the D (Green) metro line - Sans-Souci - which took you directly to the old town, if you get off at Vieux Lyon you can then get the funicular to St Just and then walk down towards Fourviere and into the old town. There are so many lovely restaurants here, look out for the Bouchons which have wonderful food at really good prices, I recommend the Restaurant le Vieux Lyon which had some good 3 course menus. The mainline station of Part-Dieu is around a 15-20 min walk and you can get the express tram to the airport there. Right next to the hotel is a little supermarket and across the road is Pizza Cosy where you can get the best pizza's or salad. We were only in town for a few days for the Olympic events and so didn't get to eat at the hotel but the breakfast looked good value. The hotel has a water fountain downstairs with cold still and sparkling water that you can take back to your room, this was a real benefit especially when the weather was so warm. Definitely recommend, fantastic value hotel for stay in Lyon.

Everything was excellent. Calm, clean, nice. We were well welcomed and parking facilitation was a very good point for the whole stay.

Receptionists excellent very friendly even the bartender let me have her own parking space as my car is higher than the height limit . Breakfast very good and clean restaurant. Stuff very helpful and made easy for me

Clean and tidy room, a bit on the small side. Food at breakfast was excellent, lots of choice.
